Boston
Acoustics Now Shipping
Entry-Level
Mobile Audio Subwoofers
May 30, 2006
Peabody,
MA, May 2006—Boston Acoustics,
Inc., a premier manufacturer of high performance audio
solutions
for use in aftermarket and OEM automotive systems, home
music audio and video systems, and custom built-in audio
systems, is now shipping the new Boston G1 design, available
in 10- and 12-inch models. Delivering a combination of
performance, value, and ease of installation previously
unknown to the mobile audio world, these entry-level models
will delight new and experienced autosound fans alike.
The
G1 duo joins Boston’s SPG555, G5, and G2 subwoofers
to complete the industry’s best-focused array of
subs for the consumer. While the G1 10- and 12-inch models
are priced for entry-level buyers and value-driven systems,
both use the same cutout size and are engineered for optimization
in the same sealed or vented enclosure volumes as their
G2 and G5 siblings. In fact, all use the same enclosure
size, whether sealed or ported, allowing an easy upgrade
path from G1 through G5.
Other
than diameter, the two G1 intros are substantially identical
and capable of delivering
terrific bass performance,
thanks to their robust, 2-inch voice-coils and impressive
1.75-inch maximum excursion. Both new subs feature Boston’s
patented RadialVent® voice-coil cooling design and
SureSet™ impedance-selection and driver-protection
system, and both offer high-current, 8-gauge input terminals
that ensure maximum installed performance. The new Boston
G1s also boast exceptionally shallow mounting-depth requirements
of 4.75 and 5 inches for the 10- and 12-inch models, respectively,
and optimal response in unusually compact enclosure volumes
(0.5 and 1.0 cubic foot). This makes them the most flexible
and easily installed high-value, high-performance subs
for both pre-made and custom enclosures in virtually any
vehicle, including standard-cab pickups. Consequently,
the G1 can deliver stunning performance with terrific sub-bass
impact, even when installed in a vehicle with tight depth
restrictions. The G1 subs are also available in single
and dual 4-ohm versions, allowing the user to optimize
the impedance load to the amplifier regardless of the number
of subwoofers used in the system.
Manufacturer’s
suggested retail prices:
G110: $109.95
SVC 4-ohm or dual coil DVC (4-ohm/4-ohm)
G112: $119.95
SVC 4-ohm or dual coil DVC (4-ohm/4-ohm)
Note: The product will be available internationally in
the coming months.
